Loudoun County has a home repair program which is designed to assist the elderly and/or disabled with emergency home repairs and/or accessibility needs. The Loudoun County Home Repair Program for the Elderly and Disabled is available countywide to income-eligible residents of Loudoun County.

The Home Repair Program will provide a one-time grant of up to $5,000 in assistance for emergency repairs and/or accessibility needs. Applicants must meet these qualifications:

  • Must be a resident of Loudoun County and owner of the home in need of repair or accessibility items;
  • The homeowner is 62 years of age or older, or disabled, or has a disabled household family member;
  • Income at/or below 50% of the Area Median Income; and
  • Must have proof of immediate need for repairs and/or accessibility items.

Acceptable repairs and/or accessibility measures include leaking roof, plumbing and electrical issues, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), interior/exterior components and accessibility items to assist with quality of life. Emergency need is determined by program staff based on the condition of any given component. All work is performed by licensed, bonded and insured contractors.
