U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx met with ICMA and other state and local government organizations to discuss opportunities to pass long-term infrastructure funding in the next six months.
There is a bipartisan consensus that an investment in infrastructure is badly needed. The debate bogs down over the best way to pay for it. The Grow America Act is the Administration’s $302 billion, four-year transportation reauthorization proposal to increase funding for highways, bridges, transit and rail. The proposal includes one-time transition revenue from business tax reform. No other bills are pending.
