The City of Sparks decided to elevate one project at a time to the forefront of City attention and action and call it a “Wildly Important Goal”. Instead of muddling through a sea of competing interests at all times, resources are focused in a time limited, goal oriented fashion toward one project. That is not to say that the City stops progress on other projects. Only that one project at a time receives an infusion of targeted attention and expectations Citywide. The first project selected to test this style of management was the launch of a new health and wellness program. We rallied around a solution to one issue that, unaddressed, threatens the financial future of the City.

The City of Sparks is not the first, nor will it be it the last employer to bring health and wellness to the workplace. What sets this project at the forefront of innovation is the approach, and the partnership with a local vendor who is making an international splash in the field of prevention.
