The Deputy Finance Director position was created as a key leadership role to strengthen succession planning within the Financial Services Agency and provide high-level professional support to the Assistant Finance Director and the Executive Director of Finance. With an operating budget of $1.65 billion and a $2.88 billion 5-year capital improvement program, Ontario requires a Deputy Finance Director who balances technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills. A collaborative, team-oriented style that encourages partnership and trust, along with a customer service mindset, the ability to problem solve creatively, and adapt to changing priorities, are key to success in this role.

Competitive candidates will offer at least seven years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting or finance, including four years in a managerial capacity in a governmental agency, and a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
