This is the 2010 nomination of Bothell, Washington's Development Services Initiative for the Strategic Leadership and Governance Award. City Manager Robert S. Stowe has been recognized for helping develop and implement this innovative program. The Development Services Initiative created a team that was comprised of the city's division managers who supervise the development review and permitting process for new businesses or building plans. Based on this program and collaboration, the amount of time required to obtain a permit was reduced from upwards of eight weeks to exactly two.
