The City of Clayton, Missouri is an inner ring suburb of St. Louis, with a dense, well-developed central business district composed of many high rise buildings. It is home to single-house fire department that frequently depends on mutual aid from neighboring jurisdictions to assist during emergencies. Considering the surrounding jurisdictions lack of high-rise buildings or dense urban cores, cooperative training programs are imperative so outside agencies are adequately prepared to deal with the unique challenges posed by Clayton’s urban setting. This required the organization of a Mutual Aid Training Program.
