The Border Coast Airport Authority (BCAA) was established in June 2008 as a partnership between the cities of Brookings, Oregon and Crescent City, California to improve commercial air service to the region and to support economic development efforts and the local population. Its goal was to improve facilities at Del Norte County Airport and expand air service. This cross-state-lines effort has several advantages, including the help of two senior congressmen who are well positioned to assist with the funding of this new and innovative project. The City of Gold Beach, Oregon and the County of Curry, Oregon are both currently considering membership in the BCAA .
