City Manager
City of Trinity, NC
The City Manager serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the City of Trinity and possesses all powers and authorities held in NCGS § 160A-148 Powers and Duties of Manager. The City Manager’s primary concerns are providing the Mayor and City Council with the support necessary to make it effective. In accordance with the North Carolina General Statutes, the City Manager attends all meetings of the City Council and provides City Council with policy recommendations that are beneficial for the City’s operations. State Statutes also provide the City Manager with the responsibility of directing and supervising all City departments, subject to the general direction and control of the Council; appointing, suspending and removing all City employees except the City Attorney; and submitting to the City Council the annual budget and other reports as required by the City Council. The City Manager serves at the will of the City Council.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in public administration or private business.
A master’s degree is preferred.

• Ability to develop effective intergovernmental, business and community
• Assist with the preparation of the preliminary annual City budget that demonstrates effective and efficient use of funds, personnel, materials, facilities and time.
• Administers the adopted budget of the City.
• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
• Studies and standardized procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
• Works closely with local businesses to promote positive relationships with the community.
• Develops and maintains strong working relationships with local and state government officials and local businesses.
• Attends all meetings of the Council relationships.
• Commands a wide range of knowledge in relation to economic development activities.
• Possesses wide knowledge of public administration, business administration, economic development and finance plus acuity and experience with municipal governance issues.
