The 12th Street Corridor in Little Rock, Arkansas has experienced near constant change over the past century, but had recently fallen on some seriously hard times. Though much of its vibrancy had been lost during the major social and economic changes of the 1950s and 60s, the rehabilitation of a former school as a community center, business incubator, and social service center in 1999 marked the beginning of a new chapter in the area’s history. Beginning in 2007, the Central Arkansas Library System and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences started making major investments that has sparked continued economic redevelopment.
