The City operates under a council–manager form of government with about 30 employees across core departments
Position Overview
The City Manager is the chief administrative officer responsible for carrying out the policies and directives of the City Council. This role oversees all day-to-day operations of the city, including utilities, public works, finance, and administration, while managing a dedicated workforce. The manager is expected to provide clear leadership, foster collaboration across departments, and engage with community members, businesses, and regional partners. Key priorities include advancing infrastructure projects, addressing housing and development needs, maintaining financial stability, and ensuring efficient delivery of city services. The position requires a balance of strategic vision, operational oversight, and strong communication skills to support both the Council’s long-term goals and the community’s immediate needs.
Key Duties
Manage and supervise all city departments, public works, and utilities.
Enforce laws, ordinances, and city policies.
Oversee capital projects, infrastructure, and city property.
Prepare and administer the annual budget; advise Council on finances.
Lead personnel management, recruitment, and staff development.
Serve as the purchasing agent and ensure contract compliance.
Salary: $105,000 – $115,000 DOQ
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and experience in public management or related field.
Minimum of three years in local government with leadership responsibility.
Knowledge of municipal finance, budgeting, and utility management preferred.
